Lockheed Martin Australia.
Managed the delivery of 12 Data Centre instances of varying capability across multiple nation-wide sites and to various Defence security levels to meet the contract obligations of the Centralised Processing (CP) Program. This was achieved within a 12 month period . Upon joining the program we quickly determined that it needed recovery as there was a significant cost and schedule variance from the plan. This work needed to be completed with haste and we instigated the following to recover the program:
- Completed a complete schedule restructure validating effort estimations and activity sequencing to make the schedule meaningful, purposeful and achievable.
- Undertook a complete review and reset of the project budget using any existing actual data coupled with the revalidation effort estimations.
- Instilled a leadership approach that focused and empowered the teams to deliver assigned milestones which also fostered a delivery oriented culture.
- Adopted a milestone based, traffic light style reporting system that provided excellent perspective of the progress of the program against the revised schedule.
- Implemented a regular communication forum in which expectations and planning outcomes for the next period were clearly spelled out so that conflicts and delivery issues could be identified and mitigated.
The program delivered as per the plan (and budget).
